sweet metal life

what a day what a day
the refrigerator came unglued
ran around mocking its makers
making up little songs
the toneony rocked its safeties
stood up on its toes and howled
every plant shivered in its neat little plant bed
praying to the spirit of the plant
ten signallers craft feet pointed high
turn around turn around turn around turn around
when work comes we can’t be found
look at the gatherings above ah them
sweet metal life
push the electron
now push the electron
and the neutron stays home
the neutron stays alone
sweetpea growing on the window ledge
the expression gravely felt and deep
the man begins to go backwards
to study the strange path
what a day what a day
secret social wisdom in there
somewhere
